The EPA has developed a forum for public information regarding coal ash facilities. Specifically, the EPA seeks to post the “hazard potential ratings” for the various facilities across the United States.  Hazard potential ratings refer to the “potential for loss of life if there is a dam failure.”  In the wake of the TVA Kingston Coal Ash spill, authorities are conducting on-site assessments with an eye toward disseminating results to the public.
